Freshman center Taylor Reece led the hot-shooting Samford Bulldogs to a 67-36 victory over Elon in the quarterfinal round of the SoCon Tournament. Reece finished with a game-high 18 points, including 3 of 3 three-point shooting. The team was 11 for 20. Sophomore guard Shelby Campbell added 13 points. After the game, head coach Mike Morris:
