Samford women end season with loss to #3 Davidson in SoCon quarterfinals

Bulldogs prepare for final battle of the season

The 6th-seeded Samford women's basketball team fell to 3rd-seeded Davidson 55-42. The Bulldogs shot just 24.6% percent for the game, and went 5-of-22 from three-point range. Freshman guard Kassidy Blevins led the team in scoring with 13 points, while All-SoCon guard Laura Murray scored 26 for the Wildcats.

Women open 2013 tournament with win over Wofford

The Samford women's basketball team has now won seven straight Southern Conference Tournament games, defeating Wofford 59-55 in Friday's first round. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by sophomore center Taylor Reece, who scored 24 points and added 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Senior guard Jazmine Martin added 14 points, while freshman guard Krista Stricklin pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Bulldog Update - 7

Tournament.
Junior guard Shelby Campbell went down in the Dec. 29 game at Auburn, and is out for the rest of the season following knee surgery. Still, Samford is 6-2 in the SoCon and near the top of the league standings. Campbell and Coach Mike Morris talk about what's ahead for Campbell and the Bulldogs...

The Samford women's basketball team returns home Saturday to face the College of Charleston, following a six-game road trip. The Bulldogs are coming off a SoCon weekend that saw a loss to Elon and win over UNCG, and are making more adjustments as another starter is lost.

Bulldog Update - 3

The Bulldogs rebounded from a home loss to Tennessee State, using stifling defense to shutdown Auburn University at Montgomery 62-24, Tuesday night at the Pete Hanna Center.

Senior forward Hannah Dawson led the team in scoring (11) and rebounding (8), while junior center Christy Robinson blocked five shots.

Practice is underway for the two-time defending SoCon champion Samford Bulldogs, now 30 days from opening the 2012-13 season at Florida State on Nov. 11.
