Men's basketball falls to #1 seed Davidson

The Bulldogs dropped the SoCon quarterfinal round game to the Davidson Wildcats, 77-54. SoCon Men- Bulldogs open tournament with win over App State

The eighth-seeded Samford men's team opened the 2014 Southern Conference Basketball Tournament with a 70-56 win over #9 Appalachian State. Sophomore forward Tim Williams led Samford with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman center Michael Bradley added 11 points.

Men fall to Furman in SoCon opener

The season ended Friday for the Samford men's basketball team as the Bulldogs fell 55-51 to Furman in the opening round of the Southern Conference Basketball Tournament. SoCon Freshman of the Year Tim Williams led the Bulldogs with 15 points and 6 rebounds.

Bennie Seltzer introduced as Samford head basketball coach

Birmingham native Bennie Seltzer was introduced today as the new head basketball coach at Samford. The 41-year-old graduate of Parker High School was an all-Pac 10 player at Washington State, and has served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma, Marquette and Indiana.

Men fall in SoCon opener to Furman

The Samford men's basketball team lost its opening Southern Conference tournament game, 75-66 to the Furman Paladins. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by sophomore center Drew Windler with 21 points. The Bulldogs were 2 of 20 from behind the arc. Furman guard Charlie Reddick and Bobby Austin paced the Paladins with 15 points apiece.
