Samford downs Auburn 8-5 with walk-off grand slam

The Samford baseball team knocked off the Auburn Tigers 8-5, thanks to a Phillip Ervin grand slam home run in the bottom of the 9th, before a record crowd at Samford's Joe Lee Griffin Field.

Samford season ends in NCAA first round, after 82-47 decision to Duke

The Duke Blue Devils showed why they're a national championship contender, taking an 82-47 victory over Samford in the NCAA tournament first round in Nashville. Freshman center Taylor Reece led the Bulldogs in scoring with 10 points and rebounds with 4. It was the final game for seniors Jazmine Powers, Paige Anderson, J'Quita Babineaux and Ruth Ketcham, who helped the Bulldogs to their first two NCAA appearances in school history.

REPEAT! Bulldogs are queen of the mountain with 54-43 win over Appalachian State in SoCon title game


The Samford women's basketball team claimed its second consecutive Southern Conference tournament championship with a 54-43 victory over Appalachian State. Senior guard Jazmine Powers led the Bulldogs in scoring with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The Bulldogs used stifling defense to limit the Mountaineers to 29 % shooting from the field.

SoCon semis: Bulldogs knock off #1 seed Davidson 62-51

A dominating first half led to a Samford semifinal upset of the top-seeded Davidson Wildcats, 62-51. Sophomore guard Shelby Campbell had a game high 24 points - off the bench - shooting 8 of 10 from the field. Senior guard Ruth Ketcham added 11 points and 7 rebounds.
After the game, coach Mike Morris, Campbell and Ketcham spoke with the media...



Conference player of the year Sophia Aleksandravicius was held scoreless in the first half and finished with 13 points. Sophomore guard Laura Murray led the Wildcats with 18 points.

Samford women down Elon 67-36 in SoCon quarterfinal

Freshman center Taylor Reece led the hot-shooting Samford Bulldogs to a 67-36 victory over Elon in the quarterfinal round of the SoCon Tournament. Reece finished with a game-high 18 points, including 3 of 3 three-point shooting. The team was 11 for 20. Sophomore guard Shelby Campbell added 13 points.

Men fall in SoCon opener to Furman

The Samford men's basketball team lost its opening Southern Conference tournament game, 75-66 to the Furman Paladins. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by sophomore center Drew Windler with 21 points. The Bulldogs were 2 of 20 from behind the arc. Furman guard Charlie Reddick and Bobby Austin paced the Paladins with 15 points apiece.

After the game, Furman head coach Jeff Jackson met with the media, along with senior forward Bryson Barnes and sophomore guard Charlie Reddick...
